DOMINO-KNITTING in JapaneseIt is really special for me to publish a book in Japan. It was quite unreal when I received the first mail from Japan. Akiyo Murono wrote and asked if I would do a book for the Japanese knitters. I said YES - as I am an adventurer - but I did not beleave it was real, I am getting so many mails about this and that. But suddenly one day I got a mail telling me that the book was decided - it should contain so many pages etc. etc.
My eyes got open wide - it was true and I had to start - how? I got shadecards and yarn from Japan and here we go! I designed all the small projects the publisher, Bunka, wanted, knitted sample swatches and draw all the processes as a cartoon in order to be proper understood. Akiyo Murono, the editor, got it all knitted, she wrote the Japanese text, did the styling, and she is the one who did the wonderfull drawings in the back of the book. She did a wonderfull job. Then suddenly the other day I got the book as I was sitting here alone. That was quite special. My best friend came at once with flowers and we celebreted that the book was now a reality. I am very happy about the book. It is very lovely. Long live the mailsystem - without the email this book could not have been possible. Happy knitting from Vivian Høxbro |
